Senior Center Hours are:
Monday – Thursday: 8:30 am to 5 pm
Friday: 8:30 am to 4 pm
Sunday: 1 pm to 4 pm
The purpose of the Ruth Anne Bleankney Senior Center is to provide programs and services to the senior (age 60+) and disabled citizens of Milford. The center provides a vast array of activities from exercise classes to watercolor art classes (please see calendar, activity roster and most recent media release.
Our beautiful building opened its doors in February of 2004 and is considered one of the best in the state.
The Council on Aging is an advisory board for the Senior Center. The Council meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10 am in the COA Board Room of the Senior Center.
The Friends of the Ruth Anne Bleankney Senior Center, Inc was formed in 1990 and has made many contributions to the Senior Center that could not be provided by state or local government. The Friends provide a great deal of support for the activities and services of the center. The President of the Friends is Brian W. Murray, Esq. Dino DeBartolomeis is the vice-chair and Joseph Edwards, Jr. is the Treasurer. Other members are Richard Buma, Perry Cacciola, Thomas Cullen, Michael Diorio and Theresa Pluta.
The Ruth Anne Bleankney Senior Center provides local and out-of town medical transportation. Please call our Transportation Coordinator, Marie, for details.
The Senior Center is the local intake site for Fuel Assistance for Milford residents. Call the Senior Center to make an appointment.
The Senior Center’s daily operations are supported mostly by volunteers. Please call Jean to find out about volunteer opportunities at the center.
The “Treasure Chest Gift Shop” is open daily at the Senior Center from 10 am to 2 pm. All items are new or gently used and available for reasonable prices. Donation of items for the Gift Shop is always needed.
