The Office of Planning and Engineering consists of one Departmental Clerk, as well as the Town Engineer and the Town Planner who serve as professional consultants to various town departments, with primary responsibility to the Board of Selectmen, Planning Board, and Conservation Commission. The department reviews development proposals and makes recommendations to various Boards and Commissions. The department obtains and administers State and Federal grants, monitors developer mitigation to minimize development impacts, and implements the Comprehensive Plan. The department also oversees the Community Development Office and the Downtown Partnership.
